I say if you’re going to get a joovy brand sit n stand stroller you’re better off opting for the ultralight instead of their original.

The ultralight supersedes the regular joovy caboose in ways worth the extra money in my opinion. It weighs less, the sun shade provides more coverage, it includes the parent organize (which I love, and would otherwise be an additional expense) and most importantly has ball bearing wheels. This means the wheels spin fast and smooth for an easier push. The Joovy Ultralight is one of my favorite sit n stand strollers, although it is a bit of a love/hate relationship (hey, there’s no PERFECT stroller), but I still feel it’s the best in its class. So, you’re wondering what I hate, right? Well, this stroller folds pretty flat, but it is LONG. If you’re using a car seat adapter, you’ll likely be removing it and putting it back on every time. Not a huge deal, but it does get on my nerves. If you have a small sedan, you might also find you have to remove the sun canopy each time. Again, not a huge deal, but when you have a couple of small children in tow, it can get a little annoying. Add to this the not so easy to access storage basket (which all of these baby strollers seem to have). That brings me to the next one – the Joovy Ergo Caboose.

I have yet to see an Ergo in real life, but when I do I’ll update my review if need be. I have done my share of online research for you and it seems to have many awesome features! It does have a more accessible bottom basket, but only when the back rider isn’t sitting on the back (otherwise it’s similar to all the other sit n stand baby strollers). Once again, they’ve improved upon the sunshade to provide better protection for both riders. Another spectacular feature is that you can out the baby in an infant seat on the back facing you—yes on the back! This is especially useful if the two kids are close together in age and you’re not quite ready to have your toddler ride on the back instead of a traditional stroller seat. Another favorite of mine is that it has rubber front tires and rubber air-filled rear tires. Cons are the bigger price tag, heavier stroller and the fact that accessories, like the parent organizer, seat liners and rain cover are all add-ons. For the price difference, I say stick with the ultralight and buy a diaper bag with stroller hooks. I have a Skip Hop Dash Deluxe and love it! I can strap it on to the stroller high enough that it’s not in my son’s way of getting in and out of the stroller. You can also put a hat on the back rider and/or some sunscreen since they’ll likely be getting in and out anyway. But hey, I just don’t want to fork out $400 for the new model! If it were more reasonably priced, I’d be trying to sell my ultralight and upgrading to the ergo.

Last, is the Big Caboose (Warning: It’s BIG!). I haven’t tried this out yet, but can’t imagine fitting something even longer. If you have twins or babies that are spaced closely together and need seats for 3, my advice would be to get a good double stroller and put a buggy board on back for the oldest child to hitch a ride on. Of course, strollers depend largely on your family needs and so the Joovy Big Caboose Stand-on Tandem Triple Stroller (even the name is long) might very well suit your needs. The Joovy ultralight just barely fits in the back of my Honda CR-V and I have to angle it just so to fit it in without removing the sunshade.

In conclusion, if $ is your #1 priority in a sit n stand stroller get the Baby Trend stroller or One Step Ahead (I actually like the fold on this one better). If you want an easier push and a higher quality product to withstand the abuse of lugging around kids and all the stuff, go with the Joovy Ultralight (that’s what I did)…or if money really isn’t an option (or your children are closer together in age) get the Ergo and let me know how it works out for you!

With so many types of baby strollers to choose from comparisons can seem endless. Sit n stand baby strollers are a good option if you have an older child that doesn’t always need to ride and will enjoy being able to get in and out on their own easily. As I sit to type this comparison of sit n stand strollers I’m realizing that even this smaller and more specialized category should be broken down into parts.

First I’ll start with the Baby Trend stroller. This is the least expensive option in this category. Baby Trend strollers come in a wide variety of colors to choose from as well as having different options. Their most basic model is the Baby Trend Sit N Stand baby stroller. If you want a neutral color, it can be had at amazon.com in the Vanilla Bean color for only $113.16 and free shipping/no taxes. The pro’s of this baby stroller are its low price, compact size (for fitting 2 children) and well that’s about all I can think of at the moment. The cons are that it’s not as durable as, say, the Joovy or as easy to push…but if you have skinny kids, this may never be an issue. It also has a lower seat back for the front child. Although not good for tall children, this can also be listed as a positive for the child trying to sit on back while the front seat is reclined (which it has to be to fit a car seat on). Oh, and the basket isn’t as useful as you might think…but that seems to be a problem with strollers in this category regardless.

Next is the Baby Trend Double Sit N Stand Stroller. This is identical to the regular model except it has an added back seat that is removable. The pro’s & con’s of this seat remain the same. The only difference being the added connivance of having a true double tandem stroller. This back seat is removable later on when a child is ready to sit/stand without the seat. Obviously, it makes for a more comfortable ride for the child in back.

Again, it’s the same stroller, but comes with the Baby Trend infant car seat. If you’re looking to get a Baby Trend car seat, then this is the way to go. Personally, I’d recommend the Chicco Key Fit for an infant seat and use the included car seat adapter bar. It’s not difficult to put on and this gives you ample options in car seat shopping (a blog entry I’d love to do in the future). I can’t end here though without also mentioning the One Step Ahead Sit n Stand Elite and Double strollers. These are identical to the Baby Trend strollers except that they cost more, have solid rubber wheels, and a small visor extension on the sun shade.

When it comes to buying a baby stroller for your there are variety of different things to consider, both in terms of safety and comfort. With so many different options available, from lightweight umbrella strollers to large and feature packed jogging strollers, it can be difficult to make a decision regarding which one to buy. Because of this, many people end up buying multiple baby strollers, none of which perfectly satisfies the needs of the parent and child. Fortunately, there are some basic tips that anyone can follow that will ensure success when it comes to buying a stroller.

Before you even head to your local retailer or open up your internet browser to shop online for the best baby strollers, you need to take a hard look at the following criteria, which will help you to make a sound decision:

1.	Safety – there is no other consideration that is more important than the health and safety of your
child, which is why it’s so important to carefully research your purchase. Of course, you also need to understand how to properly operate a stroller; you want to avoid hanging heavy items on the handle that might lead to tipping. You also want to ensure that the stroller will remain sturdy when standing and that it doesn’t wobble easily from side to side. Check also that the safety harness is easy to operate and that it holds your child securely in the seat. Again, nothing is more important that baby stroller safety, so be sure to spend some time in this area.

2.	Comfort – it’s important that the stroller you choose be comfortable not just for your child, but also for you. You want a stroller that is easy to fold up and also one that pushes effortlessly. It may make sense to take your child with you to try out various floor models, since they will likely have some feedback as well.

3.	Size and Portability – this is likely where you will see the biggest variation in terms of babies strollers. In order to determine the most appropriate size, you need to ask yourself how you will use the stroller. Will you be packing it in the car frequently or will you just be using it around the neighborhood? Do you need a stroller for jogging or for off-road use or do you simply need something to push around the store.

4.	Price – before you do anything else you should establish a budget for your purchase, since the amount you can spend will determine where you need to focus your efforts. Fortunately, there are highly reviewed strollers in just about every price range, so don’t be disappointed if you can’t fork over $600 for that fancy baby jogging stroller you’ve been eying for the past few weeks. Even if you don’t have a huge budget, there are cheap baby strollers available for purchase if you look hard enough.

For a more comprehensive view of what’s out there in term of price, features and performance you should head online. Sites like Amazon are a great way to view the various options that exist and you can also red baby stroller reviews from people that have actually experienced the products firsthand.

Have you ever wondered why there are so many different names for baby strollers? My theory on this is that it’s because it’s such a necessary item that most everyone uses worldwide. So, whether you call it a baby stroller, pram, buggy or pushchair, it still serves the same purpose, which is to carry your child comfortably from place to place. Researching and choosing the best baby strollers should be among the top priority when going through all the baby gear needed for your little one. Yes, I said baby strollers, plural. Okay, it is definitely possible to find one truly amazing stroller, but I have a few awesome baby strollers myself. Quantity comes down to your specific needs and level of…uh, well, stroller addiction. Far more important than quantity though is definitely the quality of stroller (or strollers) you will be purchasing.

This is a HUGELY important item, because it’s something you’ll find yourself using a lot and something you’ll love or hate depending on what you get. Even if you are an advocate of babywearing (which I am), strollers still come in handy for many reasons throughout your child’s life. My first son was worn or carried everywhere until he became a toddler, when he became more interested in watching everything and everyone. In fact, he still prefers to ride at 4 years old. Then there’s my daughter who I wore practically 24 hours a day until she was about 3 months old. She has always enjoyed sitting in a stroller where she can move around a bit, watch things, play with her toys and have easy access to snacks. Of course, I still wore her when she needed to nurse or wanted to sleep. Anyway, my point is that even if you don’t think you’ll use a baby stroller, chances are good that you will at some point.

So what makes baby strollers so important and why should you bother spending the time to research the various options? Well, for starters, they come in a wide variety so the options are basically endless. You can have something to run with on or off trails, single, double, triple quads, etc., something lightweight and compact for getting around the city and malls, something that takes an infant car seat, something that accepts a baby bassinet. As you can see, the options are truly endless. No matter what you decide best fits your needs, you’ll have a comfortable spot for your newborn, infant, toddler, preschooler or even school aged child to sit and view the world. You’ll have a place for the little one (or two or three) to nap. Your child will have a stroller sun canopy to help protect them from the sun. Kids have somewhere to sit and eat lunch or snack without having to use dirty germ infested tables when you’re out and about. Then there’s one of my personal favorite reasons, baby strollers are great at not only carrying our children, but also all of our stuff and baby essentials that need to come along with them! Oh, and if you’re traveling through an airport you can wear your little one and push the stroller right up to the gate with it carrying your diaper bag, toy bag, purse and carry on luggage and even a car seat.

In the search for the best lightweight baby strollers, I’ve narrowed my favorites down to just a few and can hopefully help you with your search. I’ve already told you how much I love my Baby Jogger City Mini single stroller. Next on my list of favorites is the Maclaren Quest. I love the push of the Maclarens and I’m a fan of the foam handles as well. The basket is okay, the reline is fine, the sun canopy is small and not all that useful, the fold is very small but not as easy as the City Mini (nothing else is). This might be my favorite lightweight baby stroller if it didn’t tip over when loaded with the daily essentials and if it had a better sun canopy.

Very similar to the Maclaren Quest, is the Britax Blink. This stroller isn’t as well known, but it’s also not nearly as expensive. The Britax Blink has a better sun canopy, slightly easier to fold in my opinion, and almost exactly the same size as the Quest. In fact, I’d say the footprint is EXACTLY the same, but the wheels are a little bit bigger which makes the handles a tiny bit taller. All in all, this is a great umbrella stroller for someone not wanting to hunch over while pushing it and not wanting to spend a lot of money. The big drawback for me are the tires. They’re kind of a plastic material and the push just isn’t the same as a Maclaren. I want something that pushes smoothly, but if you haven’t been spoiled by expensive strollers, then this could be something you could fall in love with.

The selection of lightweight baby strollers is plentiful and I can’t stop without mentioning the Peg Perego Si stroller. This is a lightweight stroller that has a compact fold that STANDS ON IT’S OWN when FOLDED! It has a nice basket, but it’s made out of a stretchy material so it’ll touch the ground if loaded with heavier items. The handlebars are adjustable and it even ACCEPTS A CAR SEAT! Yes, it takes a variety of different brand car seats without any bulky car seat adapters attached to it. It has straps that easily attach to where you would run a cars seat belt through the infant car seat. If you want a stroller system that’s not bulky and folds compactly, then this is it! Well, this or the Baby Jogger City Mini Single.

There are several benefits to a great lightweight baby stroller and I’m not referring to those cheap umbrella strollers that you have to hunch over to push, are a pain to steer, and that tip over backwards on you every few seconds. There are some really wonderful lightweight strollers on the market. The Baby Jogger City Mini as well as the entire line of Maclaren strollers are just a couple off the top of my head. I’ll go into further detail about specific lightweight strollers later on in the article.

Back to my main point – the benefits of a lightweight baby stroller, which I must say are plentiful. I can’t imagine not having something small enough to keep in the back of my car at all times. You never know when plans might change and a young child might be too tired to walk (or a baby too alert to want to hang out in the baby carrier or held in your arms). Lightweight babies strollers are also nice to have on hand if you need to share them with other caregivers. It’s simple to toss into anyone’s trunk and will fit just about anywhere. Not only are lightweight baby strollers small and compact enough to fit into trunks they’re also useful for city dwellers using the subway, bus or other public transportation. Or if you don’t live in a big city, you might be traveling to one (or anywhere else for that matter) and a light baby stroller will come in handy for airport travel as well. The benefits of a light baby strollers are seemingly endless. Not only are they lightweight and compact enough for fitting into small trunk spaces, but they are small enough to maneuver through store aisles and other crowded areas.

A good lightweight stroller will do all these things, plus maneuver well and still be very functional to suit a variety of needs. Some of the functional options may include adjustable seats for infants through preschoolers (and up even older), deep recline for newborns and adjustable leg rests as well, cup holder and parent console for the parents, belly bar or snack tray for the kids, underneath storage baskets along with other storage pockets to keep you organized, exceptional coverage sun canopies to shade little ones from the elements, infant car seat compatible, not tippy (woo-hoo!), as well as ad on accessories and options like using a baby bassinet.

The benefits of a lightweight baby stroller are plentiful to say the least. You can have a quality stroller that is still lightweight and compact. It’s easy enough to take with you everywhere, so you can leave it in your trunk and it’s always available, easy to carry, fold, switch among caregivers, and easy to use, not to mention functional.
