Baby Trend (and One Step Ahead) Sit and Stand Baby Stroller

With so many types of baby strollers to choose from comparisons can seem endless. Sit n stand baby strollers are a good option if you have an older child that doesn’t always need to ride and will enjoy being able to get in and out on their own easily. As I sit to type this comparison of sit n stand strollers I’m realizing that even this smaller and more specialized category should be broken down into parts.
First I’ll start with the Baby Trend stroller. This is the least expensive option in this category. Baby Trend strollers come in a wide variety of colors to choose from as well as having different options. Their most basic model is the Baby Trend Sit N Stand baby stroller. If you want a neutral color, it can be had at amazon.com in the Vanilla Bean color for only $113.16 and free shipping/no taxes. The pro’s of this baby stroller are its low price, compact size (for fitting 2 children) and well that’s about all I can think of at the moment. The cons are that it’s not as durable as, say, the Joovy or as easy to push…but if you have skinny kids, this may never be an issue. It also has a lower seat back for the front child. Although not good for tall children, this can also be listed as a positive for the child trying to sit on back while the front seat is reclined (which it has to be to fit a car seat on). Oh, and the basket isn’t as useful as you might think…but that seems to be a problem with strollers in this category regardless.
Next is the Baby Trend Double Sit N Stand Stroller. This is identical to the regular model except it has an added back seat that is removable. The pro’s & con’s of this seat remain the same. The only difference being the added connivance of having a true double tandem stroller. This back seat is removable later on when a child is ready to sit/stand without the seat. Obviously, it makes for a more comfortable ride for the child in back.
Again, it’s the same stroller, but comes with the Baby Trend infant car seat. If you’re looking to get a Baby Trend car seat, then this is the way to go. Personally, I’d recommend the Chicco Key Fit for an infant seat and use the included car seat adapter bar. It’s not difficult to put on and this gives you ample options in car seat shopping (a blog entry I’d love to do in the future). I can’t end here though without also mentioning the One Step Ahead Sit n Stand Elite and Double strollers. These are identical to the Baby Trend strollers except that they cost more, have solid rubber wheels, and a small visor extension on the sun shade.
